Dermal Fillers are injectable gels consisting of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the skin that delivers nutrients, helps the skin retain moisture and softness, and adds volume.

With increasing age, the concentration of hyaluronic acid in the tissue decreases and the skin loses its elasticity. Our face loses volume much like that a deflated balloon. This leads to excess skin tissue around the neck and chin, as well as the formation of deep wrinkles around the lower eyelid, across the nasolabial fold and down to the neck.

When tiny amounts of this filler are injected into the skin using a very fine needle, the results are immediate. Using dermal fillers, volumetric lifting and facial sculpting can be performed to enhance certain features and contour faces.

What are the benefits?

Dermal fillers can be used to lift nasolabial lines, sagging jowls, hollow under eyes, fill up hollow temples, restore deflated cheeks and chin; resulting in unmistakable enhancement of overall face shape an definition.

Is the procedure safe?

At Clinic RX, we only use reputable fillers which are proven safe and have a good track record. Mild injection related reactions such as tiny needle marks and redness sometimes occur, but will usually resolve spontaneously by the next day and can be concealed by makeup. Occasionally, mild bruising may occur, but this will resolve in a few days. You can apply makeup immediately after and continue with normal activities right after the procedure.

What is the procedure like?

Our trained doctors will first assess your face thoroughly to ensure the treatment is customized to your facial needs. We will then apply a numbing cream for maximal comfort before the filler injection. The entire procedure is quick; together with the numbing cream it takes about 30 to 45 minutes.

What can I expect after the treatment?

Like any procedure using a needle, there is a small chance of bruising and swelling. However, for the majority, the bruising and swelling is minimal and if it does occur, usually resolves in less than a week and can be covered with makeup easily.

How long does the result last?

Like your own natural hyaluronic acid, the filler is gradually broken down by your body and absorbed over time. Generally, most fillers last up to 12 months with proper care, adequate rest, skin maintenance and a healthy diet. Occasionally, some people may still have residual fillers even up to 18 months after the procedure.
